She has won top prizes at the various Competitions, including the first prize and the special audience prize from Washington International Competition; Concours International De Douai, Canadian National Competition, Woolsey Hall Competition, Irving M. Klein Competition, Hudson Valley Philharmonic Competition, Holland America Music Society Competition, Juilliard concerto competition and among others.
The recipient of numerous awards, including Music Director Award from the Kusatz Internaional Music Festival in Japan, Aldo Parisot Prize (2001) and Alumni Association Prize (2002) from the Yale University, she has been featured as a soloist with Tuscaloosa Symphony, The Cathedral Bluffs Symphony, Douai Symphony, Yale Philharmonia, FMMC Orchestra, University of Toronto Symphony, Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, KBS Symphony, Daejeon Philharmonic, Seoul Symphony, Korean Symphony among others.
As an avid soloist and chamber musician, she has given many recitals and concerts at venues such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Merkin Recital Hall, Kennedy Center, The United Nations, Seoul Arts Center, Dae jun Arts Center, KBS Hall, Khumho Recital Hall and collaborated with renowned musicians such as Menahim Pressler, Eric Friedmann, Miriam Fried, David Finckel, Boris Berman, Yong Chang Cho, Sung- Sik Yang, Lucie Robert, Victor Yampolsky among others.
She served as a principal cellist in the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra and the member of the Sejong international soloists and is currently teaching at Yewon School, Seoul Arts High school, LG chamber music school, Hanyang University. She is also an adjunct professor and the principal cellist of Hwaum Chamber Orchestra and Erato Ensemble.
Sangkyung Cecilia Lee graduated from the Juilliard School (Bachelor’s degree and master of Music degree) and obtained her Artist Diploma from the Yale University.
