Jana Marinova was born in Burgas, Bulgaria into an artist family. She began having piano lessons at the age of 4. She studied at a music school and a German high school in her hometown. She won in her early age several prizes of piano competitions in Italy and Bulgaria.
At the age of 13 she had her first concert with an orchestra in Bulgaria.
Having graduated from high school, she decided to diversify her knowledge and experience and moved to Germany where she completed her musical education at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Frankfurt am Main) in the piano class of Prof. Eike Wernhard. Through master classes of prominent musicians like Claudius Tanski, Ferenc Rados and Helmut Deutsch she gained more impulses as pianist and chamber musician.
She was accepted in the master class for solo repetition of Prof. Eugen Wangler where she discovered her passion for the opera.
Jana Marinova is active in performing at concerts, participating in various projects with singers and chamber musicians in Germany and Bulgaria. She works also as a piano teacher at a music school. She has worked in opera productions of the Frankfurt opera house and the Giessen City Theater. As a collaborative pianist she spent several summers at the Castle Festivals in Bad Hersfeld and Bad Vilbel.
